TRAINING PROGRAMME TOONSKOL
Animation Africa launched a free programme to train 20 art school graduates over a six-week period at its studios in Accra, Ghana. The training programme was designed to help artist diversify their art learn new approaches in digital story telling and transfer skills to a group not likely to have assess to training.
  
The project is designed to produce animators who will explore African folklore to produce culturally relevant programmes for our screens and to provide the foundation for the growth of the animation industry. The training programme will be held in other parts of the country to help unearth talents as well as identify sources of tradition music and stories.
The workshop’s faculty is headed by Samuel Quartey and supported by Sala Yakubu, Frank Tetteh and Emmanuel Mensah.
 
In March 2007, Animation Africa partnered with Media Magic Sierra Leone and organized an introductory training for 15 students and television professionals at the Fourah Bay College, Freetown, Sierra Leone. A six weeks animation course is scheduled for March 2008.
