After 40 years of the introduction of
animation in Ghana,
the growth of the local animation industry is minimal, it has not taken
advantage of its rich culture, population, the internet, terrestrial
television, improved technology in film, among many other factors to grow the industry.
We believe that Ghana
can be a major production service market in Africa
for animation production houses and broadcasters in Europe
and North America.
Animation Africa
hopes to harness the opportunities available to promote, grow and sustain the
local animation industry, make it profitable and internationally accepted
In three years, Animation Africa
through its toonskool programme organised workshops nationwide. Animation
Africa has expanded its toonskool project into
an institutional support and training programme.
