ANIMAFRIK is an animation festival dedicated to African and Caribbean animation and designed to promote its  Art and animation. The festival projects films by African and Caribbean Animators on the continent and in the Diaspora. The festival has screening sessions, workshops and conferences.

WORKSHOP

The objective of the workshop is to bring to the festival practicing animators or instructors in academia who will direct and share their experience to help build capacities and raise awareness of the art of animation.

ANANSE MISSION PROJECT

Nana Boadu of Praye Fame, joins Animation

Africa in its Ananse Mission Project,

working with other partners in the

Caribbean. Animation Africa will beginning

November 2010, commence the screening

of animated short films for television based

on the Ananse Folklore Nana Boadu, a guitarist and composer is composing some soundtracks for Ananse Mission's folklores. Nana Boadu will in life performances, tell stories and perform music composed for the animated films.Nana Boadu of Praye fame, holds a Bachelor degree in animation, he

attended National Film and Television

Institute Accra-Ghana. PRAYE is Ghana's

leading hiplife group. they came to the

timelight in 2004 and has consistently

remained at the top of the local music chart.

Projects

In the last six years Animation Africa has produced animation content for the National Security Secretariat, Ghana, The Environmental Protection Agency Ghana, Sierra Leone Indigenous Business Association, Ministry of Justice, Liberia, Public Procurement Agency in Ghana among others.

Animation Africa continues to work with organizations in designing campaigns, infomercial's and other promotional video content.


Training

In 2010, Animation Africa with funding from the United States Embassy, Accra, successfully organized a animation training and production programme for Universities, polytechnic and secondary schools in southern and Northern Ghana. Over a five month period, over one thousand artist and students participated in training programmes in different aspects of the animation production process.

 Animation Africa has offered training in animation and digital media In Ghana and Sierra Leone. Working with resource persons from Concordia University, Cananda, Savannah College of Art, USA, University of Trinidad and Tobago, EMCA, Angouleme, France Polywood Studios in United Kingdom. Animation Africa has delivered specialized training modules to help grow the animation industry.
